Intro

Welcome to Music Theory - Beginner’s Crash Course! This course will help you quickly build a foundation for understanding music theory and how it applies to the guitar. This course covers the fundamentals of music theory in a fast paced, fun and easy to follow format. By the end of this course you’ll have a good overview of how music works and you’ll be able to dive into in-depth music theory courses with confidence. Or, this may be the only music theory course you need.

In this course we’re going to cover:

  • Notes and Pitch
  • Melody, Harmony, Rhythm
  • Musical Alphabet
  • Intervals
  • Scales and Modes
  • Chromatic Scale
  • Major Scale
  • Minor Scales
  • Chords
  • Chord Progressions
  • Relative Minor
  • Keys
  • And more

So you may be wondering what a crash course is and how this course differs from our other music theory courses. First off, a crash course is just a course that’s designed to be fast paced and quickly teach the fundamentals of a specified subject…in this case music theory. This differs from our other music theory courses by moving much quicker through more topics. In this course we’ll touch on topics that range from absolute beginner to those that you’ll find in Music Theory Level 5 and beyond.

Don’t get too hung up on trying to use all of the information you learn in this course. Our other music theory courses are designed to dive deeper into each topic and give you practical ways to practice and use what you learn musically.

Thanks!
Chad Lambert
